About

For those who might be interested, Coupland Signs started out as Coupland Crafts & Signs. The signs being the last of our priority and the crafts being the true end of the business. We (Chuck & Dora) started out doing hand painted crafts. Dora would hand paint the wooden items I would cut out. This was only as an extra way to make ends meet. We had five children and for some reason we all liked to eat and have a home, so we had to do extra things to make the payments. Dora chose crafts and I did a little Airbrush work and signs on the side. Dora's main job was working at Walgreen's and tending to the children and I worked at Federal Express, plus I had a part time job at a auto parts and I also threw newspapers at 4:00am. In our "Spare Time" we did the Crafts. As time progress we did many different things with the crafts. We had a booth that we stocked at Linda's Craft Emporium for about a year. That soon ended due to the people who ran the place decided to steel all the crafters money. Soon after that we purchased a small trailer and pulled it from carshow to carshow and we even did a couple weekends at Trader's Village. After about a year of pulling that trailer around on weekends we decided to rent a shop. This shop proved to be exactly what we needed. We were in this shop for about five years before purchasing the shop we have now. It has been a very long journey. 2009 we currently have a total of three employees plus Me and Dora..
